Arsty Print Florals

I bought this dress at Winners awhile ago, and I must admit, I've been wearing it an awful lot. I love pairing it with a skinny belt and cardigan. I'm afraid to say... I'm not usually one to repeat outfits, but with a different cardigan and shoes everytime, it gives this dress a new vibe each and every time i wear it. What do I like about this dress? Well, its comfy, like hella comfy! Fits me pretty perfectly. The colours are gorgeous. And I also like that it's not a traditional floral print. Sorry for the bad iPhone quality pics, but if you can tell, its more of an artsy floral print -- taking the "mixing prints" trend to a whole new level huh?

Do you ever repeat outfits...? Tell me what your "go to" outfit is and why it makes you feel special. In my opinion, every girl needs one; a quick and easy outfit that is reliable and instantly perks you up. Am I right?

Went to an event at The Bay last night, have some goodies to post but will do that later =) Took the day off to study for an entrance test... so I shall go do what I need to do... =S

Have a good day =)

Spring Trend: How to Wear Lace

This spring lace is in! Lace has actually been pretty big for a few seasons, on and off of course, but I'm still loving it. It can be worn so many different ways, it truly depends on your personal style and the mood you wish to portray. Below, I have put together a few ideas of how you can encorporate lace into your everyday look, if you haven't already ;)

First off, for the fashion conscious, why not try a lace skirt? You can dress it up or down very easily, depending on what top you wear with it. The simplest way? A plain old tank top (white or black is always chic, but I also love the idea of a pastel colour, such as light pink, aqua, or even lavender). This thought also applies to both the skirt/top. Ie: Wear a coloured skirt with a neutral top or vice versa.
Secondly, for girls who aren't so into the whole trend: try a simple floral cami with lace detailing. Florals are always in for spring/summer. The lace just makes it that much cuter! I've paired this cami with white pinstriped shorts -- another current trend of mixing patterns (subtly of course).
Next I have combined a simple grey dress with LACE tights. With the warmer weather (hopefully) coming soon, put away those opaque winter tights and bring out the lace! These have a beautiful flowered pattern to it. A very easy look to do =)
The following look is definitely for the more daring woman. Corset like shirts are very in right now but I'm not too sure everyone has accepted that yet. I like how this corset automatically draws you in, making you think that whoever is wearing it is sexy, confident and strong. Something so revealing must always be paired with a classic piece (like these dark skinny jeans). Probably not the best day look, unless paired with a more conservative boyfriend blazer or cardigan. Want to dress it down? Throw on a big comfy cardigan and some ballet flats or flat boots.
Lastly, NEWS FLASH-- you can wear a lace dress without looking trashy (or look like your wearing lingerie)... This cute dress isn't skin tight but it also isn't too poufy. So it will skim over your lovely curves and allow you not to worry about your hem rising. This dress is also very versatile. Pair it with leggings and a cardigan for day or with heels and a blazer for night.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post. Been pretty inspired by lace and pastel colours lately. Tell me... how do you like to rock your lace outfits? xo <3

Pastels to Die For: Elie Saab!

He's been seen on big stars, everyone from Halle Berry to Rihanna and most recently Rachel McAdams! His designs are intricate, exquisitely detailed and dramatically draped. His past collections have been very structural and at times hard (yes, tough chicks like fashion too!). But what I love about Elie Saab's Spring/Summer 2010 Collection is how ethereal each piece is. Those models weren't walking down that runway, they were floating!
The pastel colours (pink, lavender, baby blue, seafoam green, aqua blue.. etc) really are to die for; capturing the true essence of spring and summer in one beautiful sparkly haute couture collection. What else about this line that makes me drool? It encompasses a good balance of playfulness, sophistication and all things truly beautiful in life (don't these pictures just put you in a better mood? -- makes me feel giddy, excited...). Oh, I wish I could wear just one of these pieces in my life time!
